Visitors can enjoy a round trip of 3.4 miles. They can walk, jog, or ride a bicycle down the dam. The views of the lake are very nice. On a clear day, there is a nice view of the skyline of the city of Columbia, which is about 11 miles from the dam.

The Lexington County Museum offers guided tours through antique buildings that represent the area's rich history. The Virginia Highland Park is in the middle of Lexington. It has scenic walkways through lovely gardens and a gazebo for enjoying a lovely picnic. For those who like hiking, the Peachtree Rock Heritage Preserve is famous. It is an easy hike to reach Peachtree Rock, next to a small waterfall.

Wine lovers enjoy wine tasting at the Mercer House Estate Winery. Baseball fans enjoy watching the local teams play at the Lexington County Baseball Stadium. The Icehouse Amphitheater is an outdoor performance space that is an enjoyable venue to see a live concert performance.
