Waterford is a township. It is located at the physical center point of Oakland County. About 70,000 people live there. The Great Lakes surround the state of Michigan. What To Do in Waterford

The parks and recreational areas in Waterford and the surrounding area are exceptional. A favorite is the Pontiac Lake Recreation Area, which has 3,745 acres and delightful picnic areas. Several BBQ grills are available that are popular to use during the warm summers. The lake has a lovely wide beach, and boating is allowed there. Hiking trails, mountain bike trails, and horse trails are in abundance. During winter, this area offers cross-country skiing treks.

The municipal government is the Charter Township of Waterford, Michigan. The township offices are located at 5200 Civic Center Drive. The telephone is 248-674-3111. The offices are open between Labor Day and Memorial Day from 8 am to 5 pm. The hours are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm the rest of the year.

The Waterford Parks and Recreation Department maintains the public parks, special events, summer camps, and programs and activities for youth and adults.
